This favorite passage came to mind several times recently when struggling to give God back the controls of my life.

Do you ever feel like God is out to zap you when you do something wrong? He’s out to get you when you disobey? He won’t love you when you don’t deliver on a promise or obey a direct order from Him?

Well, guess who else felt the same way… Adam. You know, that guy who lived in Eden.

Once he bit off a piece of that off-limits apple, he realized he made a BIG mistake. He sinned.

But instead of seeking God out to ask for forgiveness and stopping that sin thing, Adam decided to find the nearest forest and get lost. Surely God wouldn’t find him under the foliage.

How do you know when God is really speaking to you?

What does God sound like?

If you go to some churches, you might expect God to yell dramatically. At other churches, you would expect God to use all kinds of flowery words and sound like He is talking straight out of the King James Bible.
