Welcome to Manna for the Moment!
Now that we are on this journey together, let’s crack open that Bible, take a quick peek, chew on that God-inspired revelation for a bit, and then continue on with our intimate friendship with God through our righteous standing in Jesus Christ.
The name for this blog came to me several months ago when conversing with my sister by phone. I often get strings of words in my head. Sometimes those ideas end up being articles; sometimes slogans; sometimes book titles; and sometimes blogs. This “Manna for the Moment” phrase just wouldn’t go away, and it continued to roll around in my brain for several months, brewing like a good cup of coffee.
It wasn’t until a Facebook friend recently prodded me to start some kind of blog or Web site or article series that was more devotional in nature that I figured it was time to put pen to paper — or, in this case, put fingers to keyword — and get something in cyberspace.
“Manna” is what the Israelites were fed literally from heaven while wandering in the desert. In their season of transition, they needed food. And God provided a very nutritious substance to keep the Israelites physically fit. It was meant to be daily bread.
The same is true of God’s Word. It is meant to be our daily bread. And like that manna, you really shouldn’t skip a day if you don’t want to go hungry. Last year’s message from your pastor or that key Scripture verse that you held onto last month might be a bit crusty now. We don’t want our soul’s to get moldy. So let’s try and keep it fresh.
Here’s thought for food.
Fresh manna.
Manna for the moment.
