Let me introduce myself.
“Hi, I am Laura. Pleased to meet you.”
Now that I have made an official introduction and given you a solid handshake and a friendly smile, here’s a bit more about me as it relates to this blog.
I am currently on an imperfect-but-wonderful journey with God and will continue to be for a lifetime. I wish I could say I always know what God is saying to me or what He wants me to do, but that would be lying. And I wish I could say that I am always instantly obedient to God’s ways, but I know just how much I wrestle with God when it comes to doing things I don’t want to do and things I don’t understand. God can show up in mysterious ways. His timing, though perfect, is a lot slower typically than my time.
I say this so you know that I am not some spiritual guru or swami guide in your life. I am not your theologian or an amazing scholar. I don’t know Greek or Hebrew or can quote verses from any book in the Bible. I might be given prophetic understanding at times, but I am not a prophet. I am not a pastor.
I am just a redeemed sinner in the process of being sanctified who loves God and is trying to walk in fellowship with Jesus Christ and honor God with what I say and do. I am trying to listen to the Lord and walk where He walks. When I get it wrong, I come to His throne of grace and find forgiveness. When I need anything from Him, I ask. And lately that has been a lot!
Provision. Check.
Strength. Check.
Understanding. Check.
Discipline. Check.
Forgiveness of others. Check.
The list goes on and on.
As for what I believe, I am a Christian. That means that I believe in one God, the Great I Am. I believe there is only one way to know Father God and enter Heaven in the afterlife — that’s through a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. You have to believe that you are a sinner, that Jesus Christ died on the cross for your sins, that He rose the third day, and that He is now seated at the right hand of God in heaven. This is not my made-up philosophy. I am not trying to be intolerant or harsh or exclusive when I share this viewpoint. This is straight from the Bible. I didn’t make up the rules; God made this way to redemption for us a long time ago.
My hope is that I can be an encourager, someone who will inspire you to start a walk with Jesus and continue that walk with Him.
