Several years ago, when I was working for the Christian Broadcasting Network as a Web writer, I wrote an article challenging Christians to think positively when the situation looks like the exact opposite.

And here I am again, ready to say the same thing: What’s right with your life?

Sure, we all know what is wrong. Our minds go there faster than we can type in a Google search. Our boss isn’t right. Our finances aren’t right. Our relationships aren’t right. Heck, everything is just all wrong!

Or is it?

It depends on perspective, doesn’t it?

I am trying to work from the sunny side of the street again, instead of standing under that black cloud that seems to be hanging over me while I am trying to do new things for God.

The devil doesn’t like it when we get into new places where God is showing us more about His grace and faithfulness. The devil is ready to steal from you that deposit of faith that God just pierced your heart with.

But he doesn’t do it directly. We would figure him out too quickly. So he works through our minds …

  • That won’t work out.
  • It is just going to get worse.
  • Why even try? I am a failure.
  • I will never be loved for who I truly am.
  • I am a mistake.
  • God is against me, not for me.

All this feels so right when our lives look so wrong. But the truth is that our circumstances aren’t reality. Not exactly. Reality is what can happen when we partner with the Lord, who is always on our side, always gracious, always at the ready to help. We can then see our lives from His perspective – the only perspective that isn’t skewed.

So, what’s going right? Actually, more than we think.

I hope you grasp this. Wherever you are, whatever you are doing, remember that your life isn’t a complete disaster. You are never so far that God can’t find you. You are never so wrong that God can’t forgive you.

God is all about restoration. He is all about hope.
