There is nothing wrong with feeding a crowd a fantastic, God-inspired message, but sometimes Western culture – particularly American culture – forgets that many parts of the world need to have important physical needs met before they can even truly hear you talk about a wonderful God and an extraordinary relationship with Jesus Christ.

This is why Jesus told the disciples one time to feed 5,000 folks who had come to hear Jesus speak (Luke 9:10-17).  Hungry people need to eat real food first. Everyone is more able to digest a spoken word when those needs for sustenance are fulfilled. Read the rest of this entry »
